28 Jun 2009 - Why Did I Get Married 2 after Michael's death At Saturday’s Atlanta Urban League “Spirit of the League” awards luncheon, Atlanta film director Tyler Perry told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he intends to accommodate “Why Did I Get Married Too” actress Janet Jackson “fully and completely, according to whatever she needs.”
Perry and the ensemble cast were set to begin shooting the sequel to his 2007 hit drama with Jackson this week in Atlanta when the actress got word of her brother Michael Jackson’s unexpected death in Los Angeles and her plane was re-routed from Atlanta.
Jackson is spending the weekend in seclusion with her family mourning her brother.
When she does return to the set, Perry, who also wrote the script for the film, acknowledges that Jackson will encounter “a lot of heavy stuff to play and a lot of demands on her character [therapist and author Patricia Agnew].”
But Perry says the shoot will happen only when Jackson is ready.
“At this point, I’m on no set schedule,” Perry said. “She’s an amazingly talented women. I have no doubt, she’ll be up for [the acting challenges in the script].”
One plus for Jackson? She’ll be returning to an ensemble cast of actors, including Sharon Leal, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White and Lamman Rucker who all became a part of her extended family when they shot the first “Why Did I Get Married?” here and in Canada a couple years back.
“Shooting the first film, there was a bond that formed between all of us,” Perry explained. “Even after the shoot, we’ve kept up with each other and we continue to talk.”
Added Perry: “Janet will have all the love and support we can give her. That’s first and foremost.”

26 Jun 2009 - Rest In Peace Michael Jackson Michael Jackson, The King Of Pop, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home yesterday. "Janet is grief stricken and saddened by the passing of her brother”, said Janet’s Manager earlier today. She has flown out to be with her family who have gathered at their home in Encino.
We offer our deepest sympathies and our heartfelt condolences to the Jackson family. We too are still in shock and cannot believe that he is not among us anymore. He will live on in his music and our hearts forever.
You will truly be missed, Michael and have “Gone Too Soon”!
